WIN TODAY, THAT'S CALLED A WINNING STREAK

After the Padres won two games in a row for the first time in nearly a month, I can't help but be reminded of two of the
most quotable movies of all time, "Major League" and "Major League II". Manager Lou Brown says to his team, "We won
one yesterday. If we win today, that's called two in a row. Win tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has been done
before."

We're now at two in a row. Is this team capable of putting together a winning streak? Overall, they've played horribly this
season. They've had even worse luck. It appeared that their streak of facing every team's best pitcher in a series was finally
going to end during the upcoming 4-game series in Chicago, as ace Carlos Zambrano was slated to pitch yesterday's game
versus Arizona. Well, I guess the bad luck just keeps on finding the Padres. Because of rainy conditions, the Cubs held
Zambrano out against the NL West-leading Diamondbacks and he'll start the opening game of the series today against the
Padres instead. That's just f---ing great, huh?

Zambrano is off to a 5-1 start with a 1.80 ERA. Lifetime, he is 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA against the Padres, with his only loss
coming last season when Russell Branyan's solo homer proved to be the only run scored by either team.
